An update on AI: Chatbots are being used to train crisis counselors

An update on AI: In a time where mental health is being talked about more and more, it’s important to look at the tools that are being developed to help people. In today’s post, we will be discussing how chatbots are now being used as a positive way to train crisis counselors.

This innovative technology has been designed by Meta Platforms Inc., which has created an app called “Trevor Project AI.” The Trevor Project AI trains crisis counselors through simulations of chats with users in order to teach them what it would be like if they were talking to someone who was struggling with suicidal thoughts or feelings of depression.

The company’s CEO, Sam Mandel said: “We’re not building robots that replace humans; we’re trying to build tools that make the work of human counselors better and more efficient.”

Drew’s objective is significantly different from helping consumers accomplish things like returning a pair of jeans or getting an insurance quote.

Chatbots are frequently viewed as a necessary (and at times irritating) offshoot of online customer support.

The Trevor Project’s always-available text- and chat-based helplines (the group provides crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to LGBTQ young people ages 13 to 24).

The Trevor Project AI is the first of its kind, and it’s likely that other organizations will begin to use similar technology in order to help train their staff. This is a great development, as it allows more people to have access to crisis services.

An update on AI, “People have all kinds of responses when they talk with somebody on the phone, and you can’t always tell what is happening just from their words,” said Mandel in a statement. “We hope Trevor Project AI will help counselors learn how someone might be feeling even if they’re not saying anything.”

It’s clear that chatbots are being used in more and more beneficial ways, and we can only hope that this trend continues.

Yugasa Bot also uses AI to improve conversations with users on the website. It is a chatbot for customer service, which can be programmed to work 24/365 and answer questions from customers about your business or help them buy products online.

In this way, AI can create better interactions between humans as it takes some of our more repetitive tasks away from us so that we have time to be more creative and think outside the box.
