Breast Cancer Awareness Chatbot Launched in Bangalore by Sri Ramakrishna Hospital

Breast Cancer Chatbot: On Friday, the Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Oncology and Research (SRIOR) launched a chatbot for breast cancer awareness.

The chatbot is integrated with WhatsApp messaging application and users can start interacting by sending a “Hi” message on 9739738558.

According to a press release,  the chatbot is named ‘Pink Bot’. It is available in English and Tamil, bringing awareness to both languages on this issue.

This will help educate women about the risks of breast cancer, as well as provide information to those who have been diagnosed with this illness.

The Sri Ramakrishna Hospital introduced the chatbot today, which falls on October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The Hospital launched this new chatbot to mark the month of awareness for breast cancer during a press conference held at its premises on Friday.

According to the press release, the ‘pink bot’ will answer questions ranging from basic questions about breast cancer to various treatment options.

Apart from text messages, the chatbot will also offer users the option of listening to the messages.

P. Guhan, Director and Chief Medical Oncologist of SRIOR, Swathy Rohit, Chief Operating Officer of Sri Ramakrishna Multispecialty Hospital, and D. Lakshminarayanaswamy, Managing Trustee of SNR Sons Charitable Trust, launched the programme.

Apart from that, women over 40 with breast cancer symptoms can have free mammography at the hospital this month by scheduling an appointment through the chatbot on all working days (from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.).
